What does it mean to be a steward of the environment?

By definition, a steward manages responsibly and with great care. To us at Northern Edge Algonquin, an environmental steward is someone who thinks about the health of future generations when they act, someone who is always learning and doing their best to leave their surroundings in better shape then when they arrived.

This is a person who holds positive and peaceful relationships with both the people around them and the resources they use. Someone who has a great knowledge of the natural world and understands what makes a healthy eco-system. Someone who strives to walk in balance with the rhythms of nature.
