In the spirit of fostering stewardship our immersive nature programs explore the way of the naturalist, engaging in the wilderness arts including:

• tracking,
• wilderness survival,
• native living skills,
• traditional herbalism,
• naturalist mentoring,
• care-taking.

A meaningful connection with nature fosters connection, motivation, inspiration, responsibility, and self-awareness. The beauty of the wilderness, its mystery, and capacity for healing gives participants the time to slow down and experience the simple things in life that are important: community, family, trust, being safe, being honest, and appreciating the interconnectedness of all living things.

Northern Edge Algonquin, our off-the-grid environmental school in Ontario, has been receiving national and international attention for its ecological design and operation and we often make trips to schools to teach about our environmental practices.
