Experiential Education Director & Mentor, Chris has been working in outdoor experiential education for over 10 years. For him, mentoring people off all ages in the outdoors is more than a career path; it is a lifestyle and a personal vision.
His educational background is quite diverse and includes: A forestry technician diploma, working experience in sustainable forestry and horse logging, wilderness first responder advanced first aid, several years of back packing and volunteering thoughout N.A. and Guatemala, interning on several organic and permaculture farms, a lifetime of back country wilderness expeditions, leading dog sledding expeditions and extensive experience in ancient wilderness living skills and modern survival skills. Chris' interests include: harvesting wild edible and medicinal plants, organic gardening, making baskets and containers from natural materials, studying and researching natural and cultural history, traditional bow making and archery, carving paddles and other things from local wood, lighting fires with sticks, tracking wildlife and much more. Another passion of his is working with groups to design and deliver powerful, life enriching experiences that meet the groups learning needs. The 8 pillars he brings to programs include: cultivating personal connection to nature, creativity and fun, developing life skills through wilderness skills, quiet self reflection time in nature, celebrating life while cultivating healthy social skills, ecological knowledge, empowering qualities of leadership & resiliency and dreaming a more sustainable & regenerative future.
